Using Risk Assessments for Effective Communication

“A problem well put is half solved.” ― John Dewey, 1938. Logic: The Theory of Enquiry

As a Sponsor, a positive working relationship with your vendors is a critical factor in achieving a quality product which is fit for purpose.

Constructive two-way communication helps to not only improve product quality, but also the service you receive. This often takes place in the form of technical project meetings, but what happens when your vendor isn’t getting the message, or your feedback is broader than the technical aspects of the project?

Customer complaints are an established means of getting negative feedback registered within the vendor’s system, but what about feedback not warranting a complaint? How do you make sure your feedback is taken on board by your CMO?

Presenting the problem in the form of a risk-assessed hazard, is an effective way to communicate with others. It ensures they can better understand the rationale behind the problem being raised, resulting in a collaborative approach to problem solving and reducing risk.

JWQC have achieved great success using this methodology and have a tried and tested process in place. We work proactively with our clients to ensure hazards are identified, communicated, and collaboratively assessed by all relevant parties to effectively reduce the risk of hazards occurring, such as:

·       Cross contamination

·       Microbial contamination

·       Unblinding

·       Inaccurate data
